Dr. Vimal Sarup is a highly skilled Board-certified Ophthalmologist dedicated to managing surgical and medical diseases of the retina and uveitis. With extensive experience, Dr. Sarup specializes in the management of conditions such as retinal detachments, age-related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic retinopathy, uveitis and ocular inflammation.
Dr. Sarup earned his medical degree and ophthalmology residency from the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi in India. He then did a fellowship in Vitreo-retinal surgery from Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai, India. After coming to the United States, Dr. Sarup completed his ophthalmology residency at the Ross Eye Institute, New York. He then went on to pursue two fellowships. His first fellowship was in Ocular Immunology and Uveitis from Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts and later a two-year fellowship in Vitreo-Retinal Surgery from the Valley Retina Institute, Texas. Dr. Sarup has served as Retina and Uveitis specialist at the Orlando VA Medical Center in addition to being the Associate Program Director and Program Director of their Retina Fellowship program. He has served as faculty at the University of Central Florida, University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, Howard University College of Medicine, Washington, DC.
